How To Write Good eBay Ads

Writing good eBay ads is essential to finding success as an eBay seller. While a photograph can provide an appealing outlook on the item, the most important aspects of any eBay auction is how appealing the ad itself is and the information contained within. If you do not appeal to the potential buyers, chances are they will look somewhere else for the items they are looking for. You are in competition with thousands of other eBay sellers; therefore, you need to make sure you are catering to any potential buyer that looks at your auction.

In this article, we will discuss some tips that you can use to write a compelling and attractive eBay auction ad, which is sure to help you increase your bid rate. The best thing you can do is to put yourself in your buyers place. Keep in mind that they are essentially purchasing items that they really have no idea about. You have to provide them with a very detailed and descriptive idea about the item you are selling, after all, this is the internet, they cannot walk into your place of business and visually see the item, they rely on you to inform them.

Therefore, write headlines that contain important keywords that you had used in the title of your auction. You want the headline to be descriptive, but short. Give your potential buyers a good idea of what you are offering right in the first seconds of glancing at your auction. This is important because buyers are busy people, they often do not want to waste the time to try and determine what you are telling them.

Now while writing your ads, the first things you want to list are your items best features. All the things that make this THE item they MUST have. Then list features that are good and then better. This is the specific formula that many successful sellers use. You give them the greatest things about your item, then given them a little bit of weakness (good), then hit them again with the strengths. The first and last things they read will ultimately be what they remember most.

In your ad, make sure you include specifics such as history of owners, condition of the item, data of publication or production, dimension, size, color, and brand name. When listing condition of the item, you will want to use words like gently used, near mint condition, mind condition, or new item. You will then want to describe how you know it is in that condition. Does the book have a dog-ear? Is there a crack? Is there a chip? Is the item without flaws? Is the item still in its original packaging?

Make certain you list your shipping criteria and payment methods. Be specific, if you do not take PayPal as a method of payment, be sure to state this. If you only ship on certain dates, state this as well. Leave nothing open for assumption.

Make sure you use proper grammar and spelling in your eBay ad. Make sure that your page is attractive and not overloaded with graphics. You want to have an eBay ad that is easy to read, follow, and decipher. If everything bounces around, is all in one area, or cluttered, it will be hard for the potential buyer to understand what it is they are supposed to do.
